Back in the dizzz, we used to make fun of all the Red Sox jocks when we went to shows on Lansdowne.
Years later, we'd go to Red Sox games and make fun of the losers hanging around the Evanescence tour bus.
One thing hasn't changed: I still wouldn't be caught dead at the Cask n' Flagon.

I don't drink. I don't like bars, as I find them dark and depressing, and I don't feel the need to "pick up chicks," and if I want to hang out with my friends, I just do it somewhere other than a bar. I don't need alcohol to enj. their company. Besides, I can't hear what they're saying in a loud bar anyway. I don't know why one bar is considered less cool than another. But I do know this. Apparently you're not alone in thinking the Cask is uncool. I (from CT) told my girlfriend (from Bostonish) that I thought it would be cool to watch a game at the Cask. My reason? Because it's that place near Fenway. The sign I'd see behind the Monster on the rare occurence the Red Sox were on TV in my New Yorked-out section of CT. She told me she's never been there and would prefer to keep it that way. Okay, fine, I thought. I don't want to go to a bar anyway, I'm just saying. So then we attend a wedding up in a place called Danvers, which, like, every town in America, is laughed at for one reason or another by people who happened to grow up close to, but not in, said burg. So I'm sure you're laughing at the mere mention of this town for reasons I'll never understand. Like the way I'd laugh at Brewster, NY for reasons Idaho people wouldn't und'st'nd. So we're at the wedding, doing mingling (remember Minga, Gumby's sister?), when someone brings up the C&F. And everyone laughed and acted like they'd never go there. So I just put my head down and sat quietly and waited for it to blow over.
When I go to CT Defenders games, there're WAY too many NY fans. The park is in Norwich. Not really close to NY.
I don't like it.
The Norwich Navigators were a Yankee farm club. Are the Defenders not a Yankee team? I really don't know.
Also, I grew up twice as close to NYC as Norwich, so I really can't explain its existence. Same with northeast and Central Connect i cut.
They're a SF Giants team since a couple of years ago.
The Cask & Flagon was totally remodeled last off-season. Used to be cave-like, now it's open and bright. They had to compete with Game On across the street and BeerWorks on Brookline Ave. None of these places are dark or depressing.
The title of this post. It's killing me. I feel like I know it from somewhere. Where eez dees from?
Yeah, the C & F - I suspect it's totally not a real place at all. Like it's part of a movie set or something. I'd rather go to PJ Killroy's or, if you've been in these pahts long enough, the former "Father's 2" - ahh, the old buck fifty pitchers.
I've always liked Beer Works. That's the first place I ever had a "legal" drink.
